Building a National Telco in Switzerland
A consortium appointed to build, operate and transfer a national telco in Switzerland for diAX – were confronted with no public carrier network people in country, a new introduction of switching and transmission equipment, no experience of building a Network Operations Centre and an incomplete design. One of The Posse’s senior partners quickly built a balanced and enthusiastic team of 40 people, and gained the confidence of the customer (by delivering) and the consortium partner (by respecting their objectives and skills). The successful conclusion came from delivering an excellent design; a fine implementation, a rigorous validation and a successful operate and transfer just as The Posse methodology lays out. Enthusiastic people chosen to fill clearly defined roles in a well-structured team, operating to a clear methodology will deliver rapid results as they did with diAX. The fully operational diAX network was delivered in 4 months at an increased profit, and established a major strategic relationship in Europe using diAX as a template for future activity with its parent SouthWestern Bell (SBC) This same team
successfully regrouped to deliver Carrier 1 in 11 weeks, Jazztel in Spain in 100
days and SPA/Retecal in 3 months. |
